With the E-mail archiving, we tried to solve three different needs: - Legal chores (a read only copy of the messages sent and received, no user damages allowed)
- System administration troubles: Exchange or other MTAs are one of critical systems (availability, backup, performance, infrastructure costs). Offloading the long term storage on a different system is both safer and cheaper
- User wishes: easily find a message, using differnt search methods
